We formed the company having all worked together over the years with a mission to collaboratively transform how companies solve tough challenges with innovative AI.
Elemental Intelligence was not formed in a conference room. We are ex-colleagues who had already built real solutions together and felt there is a need for a different way of thinking and operating to really deliver AI innovation. We’ve built our approach through AI and wider industry experiences across large scale transformation, digital innovation, sensitive regulatory programmes, mission-critical intelligence and leading financial crime technology solutions.
The founders and senior advisors bring to life who we are and how we work covering the breadth bases required to ensure we are the partners of choice to our clients:

Mary O’Connor
First female CEO, UK Big Four · KPMG · Willis Towers Watson · FCA / FSA · US Attorney · Hargreaves Lansdown · AXA XL · Carne Group
Mary is among the most formidably credentialed figures in UK financial services governance. She made history as the first female CEO of a Big Four firm, serving as acting Chief Executive of KPMG UK having previously held the roles of Chief Risk Officer and Head of Clients and Markets — effectively CEO of KPMG's consulting, tax, and deals businesses. Before KPMG, she was one of the most senior leaders at Willis Towers Watson, heading Global Financial Lines — a $300 million P&L — and founding the firm's Financial Institutions industry practice. Her earlier career is as distinctive as it is directly relevant: she served as Head of Approved Persons at the Financial Services Authority, where she shaped the regulatory framework that became the foundation of the FCA's individual accountability regime, and as an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington DC, where she tried more than 100 criminal cases. She currently chairs the Audit Committee of Hargreaves Lansdown and the UK regulated entity of AXA XL. Mary brings to Elemental Intelligence's board something no other board member carries: direct experience of financial crime regulation from both the enforcement and the institutional risk side, at the highest level, in both the UK and the United States.

Ali Crossley
Legal & General · BGL Group · Prudential · Saga Financial Services · Distribution Leadership · Financial Services
Ali is Managing Director, Distribution at Legal & General Retail, one of the UK's most significant financial services distribution operations — spanning direct, intermediary, bank, affinity, and aggregator channels across protection, annuities, and home finance. Before joining Legal & General in 2019, she was Managing Director of BGL's Junction business, where she drove the commercial strategy across fourteen major affinity partner brands including O2, RAC, M&S, and Lloyds Banking Group, introduced digital innovations across a 3,000-strong customer services operation, and led the acquisitions of Sun Life and Virgin Money. Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles as COO of Saga Financial Services and Marketing Director at Prudential. Ali brings to the Elemental Intelligence board large-scale commercial leadership, hard-won experience of what enterprise technology adoption actually requires in regulated financial services, and a track record of building and scaling partnerships that create durable value.
